Yes, we can grow citrus in the Pacific Northwest! This hardy citrus can reportedly handle temps down to -20 degrees Fahrenheit. The fuzzy, yellow, golf ball-sized fruit said to taste like a cross between lemon and lime and ripens late summer into fall. Use for juice, flavoring or preserves. Deciduous tree with contorted branching and large hook-like thorns (use caution around young children and pets). Can be grown in pot, maturing at about 2-3′ tall. Grow in full to part sun in well draining acidic soil. Prune only as needed in February. Fertilize 3-4 times per year with a citrus fertilizer.
