Herbaceous perennial with edible roots that can be made into a spicy condiment. Harvest roots in late fall once they reach about 8-10 inches long and 2-3 inches in diameter or in early spring before new foliage growth begins. Make sure to replant a few roots for next year’s crop. Plant in full sun and well-draining soils.
